ESA LCA Questionnaire

Description

The Questionnaire Tab contains all the information to be completed in order to derive an LCA model, including: Project, Contact details, Acronyms & definitions, Lifecycle Model (containing processes, their inputs and their outputs).
Please follow the information tooltips for additional information on each field.
Mandatory fields, marked with ‘*’, must be filled.

Definitions

Cradle to gateActivities/processes from extraction of materials up to delivery in the production site
Cradle to graveActivities/processes from extraction of materials to end-of-life (over the entire life-cycle)
Cut-off criteriaSpecification of the amount of material or energy flow or the level of environmental significance associated with unit processes or product system to be excluded from a study
Functional unitQuantified performance of a product system for use as reference unit (in this quantified implies measurable)
Gate to gateActivities/processes performed by the organisation in charge of the production or assembly
Ground Support EquipmentNon flight product (hardware/software) used on ground to assemble, integrate, test, transport, access, handle, maintain, measure, calibrate, verify, protect or service a flight product (hardware/software)
Loading factorPercentage of space or mass occupied by the item
Process blockRefers to either one of the process groups described in ECSS-Q-ST-70C or to your defined processes
Process flowEnd-to-End manufacturing process flow
System boundariesRefers to the unit processes included in the LCA

Lifecycle model (product system)

The questionnaire allows the user to define one or more product systems, defined as lifecycle models containing multiple process. Each of these processes shall be defined completely, with inputs and outputs. The lifecycle model defines the correlation between its included processes.

Click “+” button to add a lifecycle model. You can add multiple lifecycle models.
